No thoughts.

Hell yeah. A horror blockbuster that is both wildly entertaining and thought-provoking. I’ll be seeing this again in a matter of days. I love Peele’s work and that he’s done enough to get bigger and bigger budgets for his movies. I think my favorite performance in this one is from Steven Yeun who plays a traumatized former actor still in the entertainment industry and is trying to survive by any means necessary. This is less scary than I thought it would be but it is ridiculously tense. Try seeing this in as big a theater as you can. -G
My niche on Youtube is quickly narrowing to cozy British-style influencers. Lizzy is one of my favorite channels to watch when I need a quick brain break from studying because her videos are short and aesthetically pleasing. Lizzy just seems like a gem of a human with a great house and eye for design. Her book recs are also top-notch if you’re into depressing reads. So, basically, if you like Greg’s book recs, you might like Lizzy’s. -K
The House of the Devil directed by Ti West
Leading up to Nope, I jumped through a few horror movies when I had the opportunity. This was one of them and I really, really enjoyed it. It’s a Rosemary’s Baby in a secluded house story and even features Greta Gerwig as the protagonist’s best friend. It’s just 95 minutes and moves quickly despite the slow plot mechanics. It’s on Peacock, which I stole from someone else. You gotta do what you gotta do. -G
One of the most fascinating Instagram accounts I follow is thetrashwalker. Run by Anna Sacks, it documents her finds sifting through NYC trash. It may sound like an unpleasant task, but just the other day she literally found Gucci shoes in excellent condition in somebody’s trash. She uses the account to raise awareness about what we put into our landfills and how to divert waste out of them. Anna never shames people for throwing things out but does tell people what she’s doing with the items she salvages. As someone who has been guilty of throwing away a reusable item just because I was lazy, it’s a good reminder that we just throw too much away. -K
